Monday 2nd February

So here we are in February already! A new month, and time for another re-boot on the health plan.
As you will have seen I lapsed quite badly on the blog since our weekend away. It was a great weekend, with quite a lot of walking and outside time...but sadly also a large amount of veering off the healthy eating plan. I enjoyed it at the time, but on getting home and seeing the results on the scales I was brought back down to earth with a bump. I decided not to have an official weigh in last Friday, but suffice to say that I put of a bit of weight whilst I was away and it is still with me.
I did try to get back on track but was feeling rather down last week, which is a bit pathetic as I don't really have any reason to feel down (apart from letting myself down with the weight gain)...but my moods really have a tendency to rule me even though I do try to fight against them.

Anyway, as I said at the start of this post it is a new month...hopefully the weather will start to get a little better soon and that will no doubt help me feel a bit better in myself. For now though I am aiming to try harder to get back on track, and for me that means I need to try and totally cut out any 'naughty' foods as I know myself enough by now to realise that after a bad lapse in eating I just can't have them in moderation...if they are in the cupboard and I am feeling a bit down I will eat them!
So the plan is to keep meals basic but tasty, no snacking and lots of water to drink. I won't push myself to do exercise as such this week (and by that I mean exercise for it's own sake) but I will make sure I do a few more active jobs around the house each day to get myself moving again.

I am also going to try and cut down on how much World of Warcraft (computer game) I play each day...it is unfortunately a great time waster and it is easy to feel I can 'achieve' things easier in the game, when of course any achievements in the virtual world don't mean a thing in terms of real life.

Lastly I am going to try and make sure I give myself little treats to look forward to each day...things to make me smile without adding to my waistline. Things like looking forward to a nice soak in the bath at the end of the day with my favourite Lush bubbles and reading a good book, or painting my toenails (thanks for Sarah for this idea) to give me a little boost each time I see them. Nothing too crazy or exciting...but just little things that make me happy and don't involve my taste buds...lol

I have also printed out some photos of ladies who bodies I aspire to (and who with varying degrees of difficulty I may be able to emulate one day...and by that I mean their shape not their achievements or dress styles!).
I have stuck them to my fridge door in the hopes that each time I see them it will re-new my resolve to keep on track.
Here they are...

So enough of my waffle and on to what I have done today...

Up at 8.10am (not the earliest, but I plan to try and get up a little earlier each day)

Let the chickens out, fed and watered them then gave the chicken coop a good clean out.
Moved two barrows of compost from the heap to the poly tunnel and spread it on half of the side that hasn't had any yet, the chickens are free ranging at the moment due to the weather meaning their pens are muddy and mostly devoid of grass. When the weather is really bad they have been spending their days in the poly tunnel, where they scratch through the compost looking for worms and turning the soil over and of course adding their own fertilising 'contributions'...lol
Hopefully this will help the crops in there this year.

11.00am - Two slices of bacon, one boiled, six cherry tomatoes and two mushrooms.
Half a pint of water...the rest of the pint to be drunk between this meal and the next (possibly with more if I feel the need or remember to have some).

I spent the afternoon taking everything out from the cupboard under the sink and taking apart the plumbing to clean out the built up grease and muck from the pipes. Horrid stinky job which took most of the afternoon...only to realise afterwards that I couldn't put it all back together it was kind of botched when done in the first place, not by me I hasten to add, and I just couldn't make all the bits go back right. So Paul got a sink waste pipe kit from B&Q on the way home so I can sort it out tomorrow...he also got dinner as I hadn't had the chance to decide on something for dinner and it would have been difficult to cook and wash up etc without the sink in working order.

6.15pm - Chicken and mushroom pie and chips
A Muller cherry corner for afters.
Another pint of water some with dinner and the rest afterwards.

So all in all not the best day food wise, but certainly better than of late and no snacking.
