Sunday was our Autumn Closer run with the car club.
We started off meeting up at the pub down the road where we have our fortnightly meetings.
There were 32 or us (about 20 cars) and we fuelled our tummy tanks with a bacon butty and cup of tea before we set off on our first drive. It was a twisty, turny drive down country lanes and I somehow ended up at the front of a small convoy...however Paul and I weren't sure we were going the right way so stopped and managed to get someone else to take over leading.
We got to a nice country pub with real old gas lighting were we had lunch. I had a Steak and Ale pie (in a ceramic pot with just some pastry on top) which was gorgeous, with chips and mushy peas. I couldn't eat all the steak filling so they kindly put it in a tub for me to bring home.
Then we set off again arriving about 45mins later at a garden centre which is also home to a small steam museum. Although it is near to us we hadn't been in the museum before and it was quite interesting.
We had tea and cake here (chocolate fudge cake...naughty but nice).
Then we headed home.
Spent the rest of the afternoon playing my computer game followed by a nice dip in the bath.
For teatime I had a sandwich with some of the re-heated steak and a bit of cheese....very tasty :-)
Followed by a Pistachio magnum.
So that was the weekend.
Today I got up at 8.00am
Did my regular jobs and gave the kitchen a good tidy up.
I got on with some Cute 'N' Creepy paperwork and prepared the sheets I need to fill in when I do my stock take over the next few days.
Foodwise I didn't eat until late in the day.
5.15pm - Roast chicken breast, peas, sweetcorn and home made coleslaw.
The car show committee came round for a meeting here tonight (I think the cupcakes I make have made them decide that meetings should be held here for the foreseeable future...which suits me as it saves me driving or getting Paul to drive me out to a meeting). The left around 9.30pm and I am sorry to say that I rather slipped out of healthy eating mode when I ate half a tub of Pringles that they didn't get round to eating, plus a chocolate cupcake and a cookie.
Best I get back on track again tomorrow.
Tired now...time to sign off for the night. I hope the weather will be nicer tomorrow, today was horribly, cold and rainy...still Winter is coming so I can't complain too much I suppose.
