The idea is to completely cut out processed foods and make as much of my food from scratch as possible. I have plenty of time to cook a proper with good ingredients...but I am guilty of being lazy and uninspired at times, so to ensure I don't slip back into old ways, I will need to plan and think ahead in order to make sure I know what I am cooking each day. I am sure this would be obvious to most people, but it isn't something I have got in the habit of doing...hence fairly often it gets to nearly dinner time and I haven't got what I need out of the freezer or even have a clue what I want to make and so end up messaging Paul to get him to hunter gather on the way home. This needs to stop...starting today!
Having said no more processed foods, you will see that today I have a couple of shop bought ready made items on my menu...this is because they were bought before the weekend and I don't like to waste food. I will put a red star next to them to indicate that they will not be appearing on my normal food lists.
I will try and ensure I write the blog throughout the day, and publish as I write each part...that way you should have something to read whenever you check in.
Up at 8.00am
12.30pm - Brunch - 2 x bacon, 1 x egg and 4x cherry tomatoes
3.00pm - 2 x slices of wholegrain wheat + gluten free toast with some duck pate* on
A Muller red cherry corner* yoghurt for afters
Tonight my planned dinner is...
Turkey mince (with onion, mushrooms and some cranberry sauce*) with vegetables (cauliflower, peas, carrots and sweetcorn).
Possibly some toffee popcorn* for afters as we have half a packet left over from the weekend.
