A new day!

So anyone who looked for an update yesterday will have noticed that there was none.
Yes, it is true...things went more astray food wise during the afternoon and I just didn't want to come back and confess. So for the record I ended up having several more of those mini ice cream bars (Snickers, Mars and Bounty) plus a few more Hobnobs. Dinner was later in the evening and consisted of a piece of battered fish, some chips and half a small can of mushy peas...then an Almond Magnum.
I have realised that it is probably silly of me to think I will manage a perfect lead up to our holiday week, especially as there are still temptations around the house. I am going to have a sort through the cupboards today and ensure all items which will be off the healthy eating plan when we return are in one place to be either eaten before we go or thrown/given away.
Therefore when we return the slates will be clean and the way clear to stick to the plan.
The plan will be to eat as little processed food as possible (hopefully none), to keep away from wheat products (bread, cakes etc) where possible and if I do allow myself some it should be something I have made myself from scratch (at least then there is a real effort involved before the satisfaction, and I also know what is in it). Plenty of vegetables and fruit (though I will be avoiding fruit juice as that is the sugary part without the fibre etc) plus meat, eggs and fish (again as unprocessed as possible, though I will be eating tinned tuna). I will be allowing myself some butter, cheese and cream as well as my staple natural yoghurt and I will be trying to ensure I drink plenty of water (I often forget to do that so may use a timer to remind myself at intervals).

So that is the plan, I will make a shopping order to be delivered on the Sunday (day after we get home as I imagine we may have a takeaway to round of our holiday when we get home), so Sunday 21st September will mark the real start to my push to get healthier. That doesn't mean I will be going mad up until then, but I will eat up any 'naughty' foods that we have here before we go away and will enjoy my time on holiday with all that entails.

Up at 7.45am
Did my normal morning jobs (this is what I will say in future to cover feeding and watering of chickens, poop picking up and tending the poly tunnel), walked the dog and came back in for breakfast.
9.45am - Natural yoghurt, banana, raspberries and oats.

Bleached some whites (tea towels etc were getting grubby, if I can't get the darn things clean I will probably use them for dusters and get some new ones which I will bleach regularly to avoid this in future), and put on a load of washing.
Sat down to write this...then off to do more stuff.
Update later...no really this time ;-)

Some time later....
Ok, so I have decided that I really don't want to keep a record of what I eat for the next few days so up until we go away on holiday I will probably still do a little post each day but it most likely won't have any food intake recorded. I hope this isn't too disappointing, but at least you will still get three more posts before I go away on holiday (no internet access whilst we are away)...albeit possibly boring ones relating what housework I have done...;-)
