Day Two of the re-start

Up at 7.45am

Got up and did the usual chicken and poly tunnel stuff.
Some days I really don't know where the time goes...I really think that I should start keeping a more detailed diary for myself, sort of a time management thing. The trouble with not having a proper job is that you have to be your own boss and tell yourself what to do rather than someone else telling you...of course this is really great on the one hand, but not so much when you lack motivation and often feel you have not done enough productive stuff during the day.
Today wasn't too bad a day however, after seeing to the chickens and having a quick check on the poly tunnel I pulled up one row of the now brown and dead mangetout plants. At some point I will let the chickens in there to have a good scratch around and turn the soil over...but for now there are still a few plants in there that I don't want to let them loose on.

I came back in and put a load of washing on (only one more to do and I may finally see the bottom of the laundry bin...a rare sight indeed!), then it was time for some breakfast.
(The time is approximate as I don't remember looking at my watch when I sat down to eat)
10.30am - 2 x bacon, 2 x boiled eggs, half a large flat mushroom and 4 nice sized cherry tomatoes

Let's see what else did I do today?...
Hung out the washing
Folded the washing from yesterday
Picked all the really ripe tomatoes
Washed and oven baked afore mentioned tomatoes
Put the baked tomatoes into a big pot and simmered to make more tomato sauce (I already have about 18 portions of it in the freezer which I made before we went away, today's batch added another 6 to that total).
Managed to burn myself whilst using a hand blender to make the sauce smoother and lifting it up a bit too high causing it to spray boiling sauce all over me, the cooker and floor. Luckily I got my arm under the cold water sharpish, so no lasting damage done...though there was swearing involved, not least because of all the darn mess to clear up!

Around 2.45pm I ate - Natural yoghurt, chopped banana, raspberries and oats

Later I put together a lasagne using some of the fresh tomato sauce (this is for tomorrow's dinner as I will be going out to car club so want something I can just heat up), this is now cooked and cooling in the kitchen.

Dinner - Small chicken breast oven baked with some seasoning, small jacket potato with a little butter on, some oven baked green pepper and a large flat mushroom with a little butter, cheese and garlic purée on top.
A few raspberries with a dash of double cream for afters.

The only glitch to my eating regime was two very small biscuits which we bought back from holiday, pinched from the hospitality tray in our hotel room. I always bring back anything like that on the last day. The coffee comes in handy as we don't drink it and it means we can use it for guests who do. :-)

You may think, hang on...but you had cream and butter? I am allowing myself a small amount of those but staying away from more processed items that could be called treats. Fingers crossed a little bit of simple luxury will help keep me away from the more chemical (and sugar) loaded items.
Time will tell...
