24 hour fast

Ok, so as you may have noticed I have been away from here again. We have had birthdays, both me and Paul, and as always seems to be the case over indulgence commenced with regard to type and amount of food. During the week I went to visit a friend who is on a grain free, low carb/sugar diet after having read a book called Grain Brain. She lent me the book and it (and the week or so of bad eating) have inspired me to really start afresh and hopefully stick at it this time.

So today I fasted...to be precise I ate my last bit of food last night just before midnight and I won't eat until tomorrow morning. So actually my 24 hour fast is more like 31 hours...no food just plenty of water to drink. I have done ok though of course I could happily have eaten something during the day (especially when Paul was tucking into a large bag of crisps...funny how the sound of crunching alone starts you drooling...lol), I admit that now I could easily give in and eat something but won't as I really do want to make a real change this time. I hope my tummy rumbling doesn't keep Paul awake tonight...but if it does he will know how I feel when he snores...lol

I am off to have a quick soak in the bath soon, and after that I will be heading to bed...a pretty early night compared to recent habits. I plan to get up with Paul in the morning so we can eat breakfast together...that will be a shock to the system ;-)

Right, I will be back tomorrow to tell you more about how I intend to eat from now on and let you know how things are going.
