Monday 24th March

Up at 10.00am

Went out and did some work on the veggie garden, dug most of the second walkway out...but had to stop work as I couldn't move the sleeper for the edge on my own. Instead I emptied a feed bin which Bruce is letting me use as a water butt (emptied his food for the ducks into a metal feed bin elsewhere), and set it up in the fenced area outside my workshop (still have to set up the guttering to fill it). I also moved a trough into the same area and filled it with earth.

2.30pm - 2 x bacon, 1 x egg, 4 x cherry tomatoes and 5 little mushrooms.
Natural yoghurt with some cream, mixed with a banana, a few prunes and oats for afters.

Paul helped me move the sleeper when he got home, so I just have the other side to finish edging and then I can get busy tidying up and weeding the beds. Mind you it forecasts rain for the next couple of days, so it will still take a while to get done yet.

I managed to put up the first bit of fencing which will hopefully keep the rabbits off the veggies. The two openings will have gates to close the whole area off.

Last photo, I thought I would show you a pic of the blossom on my pear tree...so glad I got it in the poly tunnel as we had frost last night.

It was getting dark when I took this...I didn't realise how dark until the flash went off.

7.00pm - Steak and ale pie, roast potatoes and baked beans (I hadn't got round to making dinner so Paul bought the pie home to feed us).
Half a scone with cream and jam to finish off.
