My, my...where did the time go?!

So here I am again. It has been nearly a year since I wrote in the blog, things have been up and down... as has my weight. Anyway, I'm back and hoping to get back on track. My aim is to write something in the blog each day, if I will manage it remains to be seen but at the moment I have good intentions.

I really felt I needed to get back on track with both healthy eating and exercise, I intend to record both here. I also feel that I have been lacking on sleep recently as bedtime seems to have drifted later and later, during the day I haven't had much motivation or energy. My hope is that earlier nights, healthier food, exercise and plenty of water will help make me feel a lot better in myself.
So here goes...

Said goodbye to Paul at 7.45am then did my back exercises (which are done lying done on the bed).
Up at 8am
The plan was to do 30mins steps on the WiiFit, however the battery pack and batteries in the controller were both flat. But undeterred I still did my 30mins using the balance board (on another board, so it is 4 inches high, the plan is to raise it up with other boards as time goes on to make it more of a work out) and the kitchen timer. Of course it means the WiiFit programme won't know I have done exercise today, but at least it means I am spared it's scorn until tomorrow...it will remind me how long it has been since I last visited. Perhaps if it wasn't so darn judgemental I might visit more often eh! ;-)
Quick wash then breakfast.

9.30am - Natural yoghurt, a banana, a few blueberries and 2 tablespoons of oats

Did a bit of work in the garden, actually moved the fruit trees out of the fruit cage and put the citrus trees in their place (so they are protected from the wind). Also moved the table and chairs in there, mainly so they don't get blown over with the weather inevitably going to get worse as we head towards Winter.

The poly tunnel is looking pretty good, but I do need to get in there tomorrow and dead head etc.

I ate a few raspberries whilst out in the garden.

3.15pm - Tomatoes, avocado, beetroot, Feta cheese, a few olives, finely chopped onions... sprinkled with a tablespoon of mixed seeds and seasoned with a bit of garlic salt.

Harvested some fruit from the garden. Lemons, a couple of limes (one of them was still a bit yellow as it got pulled off when I was moving the trees into the cage), a couple of little pears (also caught when moving the trees) and a handful of small but tasty peaches.

6.00pm - Ate one of the tiny peaches (small but tasty)

7.15pm - One and a half small baked potatoes, some beef mince (with onions, peppers, mushrooms and a slosh of red wine) and some curly kale.

For afters I shared a Fry's Chocolate Cream bar with Paul for afters.
(Paul's Mum brought a pack of three home for us from her shopping trip today, not the best start to the new start day...but one bar between the two of us isn't too bad I reckon.)

So that was day one. In line with my new regime of earlier nights I plan to also have a quick dip in the bath before bed to help me relax and hopefully sleep well. Mind you the dog won't be pleased as another part of getting a good night's sleep is that he won't be allowed in our room. Fingers crossed for a good kip tonight then on with day two! :-)
