Day Five

Well, day five is nearly done and I have managed to stick to the strict regime and actually not found it too hard. The hardest thing about it is having to think in advance about what you are going to eat, and things generally taking longer to prepare when cooking everything from scratch instead of just whipping a ready meal out of the freezer (mind you when I made beef stew the other day there was enough left over to put in the freezer, so one day next week I will have my home made ready meal).

Anyway, as well as it being day five it is also my first weigh day of this journey and the good news is that when I weighed this morning the scales (the balance board and Wii fit) showed a loss of 6lbs!
As you can probably imagine I was very pleased with this result, and although I know it is mostly water and therefore the next weigh in will show a much lower loss (hopefully a loss anyway) it is a great start to things.

I spent another morning at the farm and, although I think I may have slightly pulled a muscle lifting straw bales, I had a good day. Mucked out stalls, fed two lambs and even saw my first lamb being born! I plan to go on Monday and do it all again...somehow doing something interesting like that and getting my exercise is much preferable to doing exercise for exercise sake.

Today as well as my bacon, egg and tomato breakfast I had a salad for lunch with ham, egg, beetroot, pepper, onion and tomato. Tonight I had coconut chicken curry with rice again.

Although I still have a bit of congestion left over from my cold I am generally feeling really good, and getting more done. I feel more tired at the end of the day (earlier than I used to) but I see that as a good sign because I know the work I have done during the day to get tired...:-)
