Saturday - Walk One

Saturday is the first day after my five day detox, so I will be adding in a the occasional new food on top of the foods that I have been eating up to now. We have also decided to try and make sure we go out walking each weekend, for exercise and to get out of the house and off the computers for a bit.

Breakfast was bacon, eggs and tomato, then we headed out for a walk along the canal near us.
We took Gizmo (our dog) with us too, and headed off. It was quite chilly to start with and there were even a few small flakes of snow, but we soon warmed up and the sun later showed itself...albeit intermittently. We walked for an hour (which ended up taking us to the end of the canal as it happens) then turned round and walked back. It was a nice walk and I enjoyed it, though I was happy to see the car again at the end as my feet, thighs and hips were starting to really feel it by the end.

On the way home Paul got some fish and chips, I had a small handful of these along side a tin of tuna mixed with some peas, sweetcorn, onion and a couple of teaspoons of mayonnaise. Then I treated myself to some blueberries and a small banana with some natural live yoghurt for pudding.

After a bath I relaxed for the afternoon, then got on with making dinner. We had bacon steaks, root veg mash (swede, carrot and parsnip) and I had green beans whilst Paul had baked beans. Then afterwards I had the rest of the small pot of natural yoghurt this time with a few strawberries and raspberries.

So the variations from the detox menu today were...
a small amount of chips
2 x teaspoons of mayonnaise
a banana
raspberries
strawberries

Not too bad I don't think, but I guess it will be the scales that tell at the end of the week...;-)
