Busy, baking Thursday

Up at 8.45am this morning (I was going to get up a bit earlier, but it was sooooo cosy in bed so I had a little bit of extra time there), got on with making breakfast.

9.20am - Breakfast - 2 x bacon, 1 x egg and 4 x cherry tomatoes

Hmm, well because I had a lazy day yesterday, and I have been on the farm for much of the time in the last week or so, my kitchen needed a good tidy and clean up before I could start baking.
Everything is finally ready for me to bake, but it is now lunch time so I am going to eat before I get stuck in.

1.30pm - Lunch - Big bowl of beef stew left over from yesterday.

Baking nearly done (last cake in the oven now)...so just got to decorate them and make some chicken liver pate now. I have to say that all this baking is making me feel peckish, going to make a cup of tea to sip and keep busy decorating the cakes...though as this will involve jam, butter cream, chocolate and cream it might end up seeming like a long time until supper!

Oh dear, the creativity and tasty things involved in cooking got to me and I experimented with making some oat cookies using no flour, just some oats...butter...golden syrup...cocoa powder and raisins. They worked and I ate quite a few of them :-( That said it was only a very small amount of mix and I did give the rest to Paul when he got home...still it wasn't ideal. But this was my first time baking whilst on this new regime. Next time I bake I will make sure I have some berries and yoghurt after my lunch, just to make sure I am full up and not tempted.

7.45pm - Supper - Skinless chicken breast with Chinese five spice on,  parsnip chips and baked pepper, onion and tomatoes. Afterwards I had a chocolate cupcake (when I bake there are always a few spares...Paul is going to have the other 3)...so another naughty, but I think that will keep me happy for a while.

Tomorrow is weigh day...I hope I haven't messed up my chances of losing this week due to the slip ups. If I have, then I only have myself to blame and need to work harder next week...if I haven't then I will be grateful and make sure I work hard next week to keep things going in the right direction.

I didn't do any designated exercise today, but I was on my feet in the kitchen for five hours baking, decorating and cooking...probably not really enough (as it wasn't vigorous) but at least it was something.

No one said that making this change was going to be easy, after all I have been eating what I wanted when I wanted for a long time...all I can do is keep trying and not get disheartened by the occasional slip.
Watch this space for tomorrows weigh in results!
